Lepidolite in Matrix

Lepidolite is a beautiful lavender lilac colored gemstone. It often has a sparkly or speckled appearance. It is sometimes found with bits of pink tourmaline running through it. Until recently, the lepidolite was often destroyed in the search for the more valuable pink tourmaline crystals that are found in conjunction with it, but people that work with the rock have learned to appreciate the beauty of lepidolite and are now working more and more with the stone.

This is a soft mineral, exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. To clean, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals. It is not suitable for use with water or essential oils.
