Septarian Nodules

Septarian Nodules

Septarian nodules are an incredible version of fossilized mud or mud concretion. These nodules were formed on an ancient sea bed or floor. These nodules or concretions were formed 50 million to 70 million years ago and feature amazing crystal formations of yellow calcite, brown aragonite, white or clear barite and the grey rock (limestone) forming the nodule.
We have many carved Septarian pieces including eggs, cubes, stand ups, hearts and spheres, from Utah, USA.
