Rough Hematite

The name hematite finds its roots from the greek name aematitis lithos, meaning blood stone, for the red color it displays when in the form of powder. This iron oxide mineral was used for pigmentation as far as 164 000 years ago.

Hematite is used to ground yourself to Earth so that your knowledge gained through spiritual journeys can be brought back to daily life easily. Hematite can help with original and logical thought, as well as reduce anxiety in the body.

This stone requires special care - exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
