Splash Copper

Copper is a beautiful mineral found in many parts of the world.  It may be found in a massive form as blobs or in crystal form.  Sometimes it combines with other minerals such as iron, silver, bismuth, or antimony to name a few.  

Splash copper is a particular formation that is man made. Copper is melted then "splashed" upon a concrete surface and left to cool. It can then be removed from the concrete as a solid piece. Then a chemical is applied to produce oxidation, which turns parts of the specimen a green-blue colour. The rest is then given a fine polish, and a protective coating is applied to stop the oxidation process.

Man has used copper for several thousand years.  It is a fairly heavy substance; it is always surprising to feel the weight in your hand. Some believe wearing copper may help with arthritic pain, tension headaches, and with other ailments. It is also great for grounding yourself when you are stressed and stuck in overthinking mode.

This item requires special care - exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you clean the item, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
