Rough Rainbow Citrine on Stand

Citrine is a semi-precious gemstone. It is best described as a beautiful yellow transparent gemstone. It is a form of yellow quartz; although it very often resembles a yellow topaz. Yellow clear quartz is called citrine, purple quartz is called amethyst. Sometimes these two colours will appear together, the combination citrine and amethyst stones are called ametrines.

Through the process of heating amethyst to a precise temperature, the crystal turns from purple to yellow, thus holding the properties of amethyst, as well as the properties of the yellow color.

Citrine creates an optimistic environment and can help you make decisions without doubt or fear. It is believed to attract prosperity and success, and generosity. It is excellent for interpersonal conflict by promoting cohesiveness and may aid in creativity and guard against heartbreak.

Enhancement of citrine may take a variety of forms. Some enhanced citrine specimens boast a metallic finish, caused when the stone is plated with a metal. To start, the citrine is selected, then treated via an electrostatic process whereby the stones are put into a vacuum and charged. Heat is applied. The plating metal of choice is then put into the vacuum and it "clings" to the stone, giving it an entirely unique quality of iridescence or colour. Rainbow Citrine is created with the help of Titanium.

Enhanced gemstones are believed to amplify the already present properties of amethyst, while the finish serves as a reminder to continue to look to the future.

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
