Juniper Quartz is quartz with iron inclusions trapped inside of it. This means that the quartz will have iron inside it; some that grew within the quartz as it was forming, or the quartz may have grown around the iron that was already present. If the iron did not oxidize, it will be green in hue; otherwise it will be red/burgundy due to oxidation or rust. This unusual colour paring is similar to our local juniper berries, which is where the name juniper quartz comes from.
Juniper Quartz is also known as Seer Quartz or Shaman Dream Quartz. These crystals are used by Shamans to induce visionary experiences and to promote healing of the mind and body. Meditation with a dream crystal is said to bring transformation on many levels. The soft patterns within each crystal remind one of another world. Juniper Quartz specimens are prized by collectors as no two are alike.
