Natural Double Terminated Quartz

Natural double terminated quartz is a rare formation of quartz as it forms free-floating in pockets of clay, rather than on one side of a stone. 

Natural double terminated points may have a smokiness or inclusions. The smoky coloured points form essentially the same way as regular quartz, however natural heat was present during its formation, causing the darker colour to appear. The inclusions present are most likely anthraxolite, but could also be graphite, carbon, marcasite, or another black hydrocarbon material. Some of these inclusions are a phantom double terminated point within the larger point, and these are usually a black hydrocarbon phantom inclusion.

In single terminated crystals, the energy is directed from the base (bottom) and out the top (termination). Based on the growth pattern, double terminated crystals don’t have a base or bottom as such, and the energy may be directed both ways. Double terminated quartz points send as well as receive energy, so they promote psychic ability and dream recall. They are also used for balance.

This stone requires special care - exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
