Gary Green Jasper Tumble

Jasper is a varied family of stones that comes in many different varieties and colours, with over 2000 varieties known.  It is a stone that will have different colourings, patterns, and textures that are completely unique to the different areas where it is found. Gary Green Jasper boasts a unique striped pattern of various greens and blues, and is found in Utah and Nevada in the USA.

Gary green jasper is a sedimentary rock that some believe contains fossilized swamp, wood, and algae. These components were then covered by volcanic ash, and fossilized over time into these amazing colours, likely due to the presence of chromium, cobalt, and/or copper during fossilization. Gary green jasper is 11-14 million years old.

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
