Pink Jade Ring

Pink jade is a member of the jade family of stones, and ranges in colour from white with pink swirlsand inclusions, to pale pink, to a very bright magenta pink. While very similar in appearance to pink tourmaline, these stones are often more opaque, while tourmaline will be more clear. The most prized pink jades have a consistent bright colour and a nice polish.

Jade is a stone with a long history. Man has used jade for thousands of years through various culturesaround the world, Ancient Chinese cultures associated jade with wisdom, it was also believed to assure a person a long life and peaceful death. Many tombs of ancient Egypt contain jade amulets. It is said that ancient Mezoamericans, such as the Aztecs, Mayans, and Olmecs, cherished jade more than gold. They used it for medicinal purposes, and often carved it into religious totems and works of art, along with jewellery and other ornaments.

This ring features a genuine stone and no two are exactly alike. The ring you receive may have slight variations from the one photographed.

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as lotions or perfumes, will damage it over time. If you polish the jewellery, avoid polishing the stone itself. A silver-cleaning dip should never be used with this piece.
