Copper

Copper

Copper is a beautiful mineral found in many parts of the world. It may be found in a massive form as blobs or in crystal form. Sometimes it combines with other minerals such as iron, silver, bismuth, or antimony to name a few. Float copper describes a type of copper found in glacial deposits. After the last ice age, when the glaciers were receding, they left deposits of copper in various mountain streams and flatlands, sometimes hundreds of miles from the nearest mines. This float copper is very unusual, and is a remnant of the last ice age.

Man has used copper for several thousand years. It is a fairly heavy substance; it is always surprising to feel the weight in your hand. Copper has a nice feel to it when held in your hand.
