Ocean jasper is not surprisingly found underwater in the ocean. Formed millions of years ago, ocean jasper is very similar to its close relative the agate family. Ocean jasper is a relatively new find, but already much of the mine is depleted. The area was quite small where it was found, and much has been mined out, or is too difficult to get at due to it being mined on the ocean shoreline and sometimes underwater.
Ocean jasper comes in many vibrant colors and will often have dotted and lined patterns that give it its unique character. Greens, teals, pinks, golds, browns, purples, and whites combine to create wondrous art by Mother Nature. Some believe ocean jasper is good for a positive attitude and good health and healing oneself. Individual jaspers are often used to heal according to their individual colors, as ocean jaspers often are a combination of several colors, they are believed to be multipurpose in their healing and health properties.
