Fluorite Octahedron

Fluorite is a soft gemstone. It comes in various colors including green, blue, yellow, white and sometimes a raspberry color but it is best known as a purple gemstone. It is quite unique in the way it breaks along cleavage points into a perfect octahedron and for being sometimes banded with different colors.

• This stone requires special care - exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only, or an air duster that does not contain any disinfectant or other chemicals.
