Agar wood is very unique. It is a dark resinous heartwood that forms in large evergreens native to southeast Asia that have become infected with mold. In order to stop the infection's progression, the tree produces a dark and aromatic resin, which creates a very dense, dark, resin-embedded heartwood known as Agar wood. Before this infection, the wood is naturally pale in colour and lacks its distinctive odor. Agar wood is valued in many cultures for its stunning natural colouring as well as its unique fragrance, and is often used for incense and perfumes. Agar wood symbolizes the replenishment of life after illness as well as the power of the circle of life. It is a reminder to embrace change and rejuvenates the wearer.
