Citrine is a semi-precious gemstone. It is best described as a beautiful yellow transparent gemstone. It is a form of yellow quartz; although it very often resembles a yellow topaz.  Yellow clear quartz is called citrine, purple quartz is called amethyst. Sometimes these two colours will appear together, the combination citrine and amethyst stones are called ametrines. 

Citrine creates an optimistic environment and can help you make decisions without doubt or fear. It is believed to attract prosperity and success, and generosity. It is excellent for interpersonal conflict by promoting cohesiveness and may aid in creativity and guard against heartbreak.

This stone requires special care - exposure to water and other chemicals, such as lotions or perfumes, will damage it over time. If you polish the jewellery, avoid polishing the stone itself. A silver-cleaning dip should never be used with this piece.
