Worry Stone - Aragonite

Worry stones are smooth stones with an indent that are said to ease stress and worry. Common to Buddhist meditation, it is said that a monk would start meditating with a smooth, round stone that would be rubbed with the thumb during meditation. Over the course of the monk's life, eventually an indentation would form, and this was a sign that the monk had reached enlightenment. Today, we sell these stones with the indentation already carved. Worry stones make the perfect gift for the worriers, the spiritual nomads, and will help focus those who can't seem to sit still.

Aragonite is a polymorph of calcite, which means that it has the same chemistry as calcite but it has a different structure, and more importantly, different symmetry and crystal shapes. The aragonite is known for its varied crystal shapes. It's colour can be white or colorless or with usually subdued shades of red, yellow, orange, brown, green and even blue, although rust oranges are the most common.

Worry stones are made out of authentic stones, and no two are exactly alike. The item you receive may have slight variations from the one photographed.

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as cleaning products or aerosols, will damage it over time. If you polish the stone, use a dry cloth only.
