Tiger Eye, Citrine and Pearl Pendant

Tiger eye or tigers eye is a member of the quartz family of stones. It is a brownish-gold gemstone to a reddish gold gemstone that may produce a chatoyancy or flash when it is turned in the light.  This flash is said to resemble the "eye's of a tiger" and thus that is where the name comes from.

Citrine is a semi-precious gemstone. It is best described as a beautiful yellow transparent gemstone. It is a form of yellow quartz; although it very often resembles a yellow topaz.

Pearls are formed when a piece of sand or other irritant finds its way into an oyster. The oyster begins to secrete a smooth hard crystalline substance called nacre around the irritant to protect itself. As long as the irritant remains, the oyster will continue to produce this nacre, layer upon layer. It will take several years to produce a 3 to 4mm pearl. Freshwater pearls are grown in fresh water mollusks and they are more of a freeform shape than other pearls.

Exposure to water and other chemicals, such as lotions or perfumes, will damage it over time. If you polish the jewellery, avoid polishing the gemstone itself. A silver-cleaning dip should never be used with this piece.
